Google Celebrates April Fool 2010 via Gmail

Today is 1 April which is also known as April fool day.In this day peoples try to make their friends,relatives and colleagues fool.By doing different types of unexpected acts.Most the big companies e.g. apple,microsoft and google also celebrates this day by doing something different.

Today i got shocked when i opened gmail to check my emails.When i was just about to enter my username and password.I realized something different in gmail.First i thought that it is possible that i have changed the language by mistake so i started search for the language which i can understand and it is off course English.

But after having a look on the whole gmail windows.I wasn’t able to find any language options.I was just thinking that what suddenly has happened to gmail, then april fool day has come in my mind and i realized that this must be joke by google on April fool day.I really like this unique idea of google to celebrate April fool day.

Google Testing New Look

Google is testing it’s new look.but you can’t see it directly.To see it you will have to do the following steps.

1) Open google.com/ncr (Because if you open google.com it will redirect you to google’s site of your country for example google.com.pk or like something that and this trick works only with google.com)

2) Now paste the following javascript in address bar of your browser and then hit enter

Microsoft Says Windows 7 is better than Linux

Today some slides from microsoft has stunned lots of Linux and windows users.As in these Slides microsoft directly targets Linux and trying to prove that Windows 7 is better than linux.Well this is an old and well known dispute between Linux and Windows users that which OS is better.

First of all i am gonna list down some points mentioned in the slides from microsoft and then i will post all the pictures of presentation from Microsoft.In this presentation microsoft has compared windows 7 with Linux.

Microsoft is trying to prove that Windows 7 is better than Linux by giving the following reasons.

Minimal Software Support

Microsoft says that most of the softwares are compatible with windows 7 and easy to install in just one click.On the other hand Linux has minimal software support(e.g. iTunes and Adobe Photoshop cannot be run on linux)

Easy User Interface

We all know that windows has much easier interface as compare to linux and microsoft is also saying the same thing that users donot have to relearn anything.

Minimal Hardware Support

In the digital life of today we use lots of gadgets everyday(Camera,iPod,Cell Phone) and in windows 7 we have plug an play support for about thousands of hardware which makes our life easy.But in linux we have Minimal Hardware Support.

Support for Gaming

According to microsoft windows 7 has great gaming support which linux doesn’t have.Microsoft has given the example of World of Warcraft but i think there are also lots of other games which doesn’t support linux.But some of them can be played using Wine.
