How to use Third Party Themes in Windows Vista

Windows Vista has great theme.But after the release of Windows 7 beta many windows vista users want to change their look of windows vista into windows 7.If you Search Google for windows 7 theme for windows vista you will find that their are many themes that can change the look of vista into windows 7 but keep in mind you can’t directly use these themes.If you want to use third party themes in windows vista you will have to patch some files of windows vista.

You can easily do this with VistaGlazz.Click Here to Download VistaGlazz.After Intalling VistaGlazz Open it.

You will see four icons.just click on the first icon on the left side and then click Patch Files.You will need to restart computer for the changes to take effect.After restarting you can use any third party Themes.

How to enable/disable hibernation in windows vista.

Hibernation is one of the most useful feature of windows which allows you to shutdown your computer while having all the working windows opened and when you will start the computer again it will restore the same state as it was before shutting down.Hibernation saves lots of your time and efforts.

By default hibernation is not enabled in windows vista but you can easily enable hibernation with one command.

To enable hibernation in windows vista.

Go to start menu
In the run Box type cmd and don’t press enter yet you will be shown with cmd on start menu look at the picture below

Right click on cmd and select Run as administrator.Command promp will be opened with administrative privileges.
Now in the command promp you need to issue this command without quotes ” powercfg -h on “
This will enable hibernation in windows vista.
As the hibernation is enabled you can now the hibernation option

To Disable hibernation just issue the following command.

powercfg -h off

How to edit boot record in windows vista

You must be wondering and looking for the boot.ini file in windows vista like i was when i installed windows vista with windows XP the master boot record was set to windows vista and i was looking for the boot.ini to edit and make some change but i wasn’t able to find it.

Then i started searching and found that master boot record cannot be edited directly in windows vista.You have two option to edit master boot record in windows vista both the options are given below.

First Method:

> Go to Run and then type msconfig and hit enter.

> You will be greeted with a screen which will have some tabs on it.

> Click on boot tab and setting related to boot record will be shown to you.

How to enable 4GB or more RAM support in windows vista.

If you have 4Gb of ram installed on your PC but still windows vista is showing 3GB of RAM then there are some things you need to check out.By defaults windows vista supports 4Gb of RAM but in most of the PC installed with 4GB of RAM vista is showing 3GB of RAM.First of all you need to download latest Service Pack for windows vista.

If after installing the latest Service pack vista is still showing 3Gb of RAM you need to Enable PAE (physical address extension) on your PC after enabling PAE vista will support 4Gb of RAM and more than 4Gb of RAM also.

To Enable PAE

Typing “cmd” in the “start” “search” space, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter. This runs “cmd” in Administrator Mode.

Then type – “run” Type – BCDEdit /set PAE forceenable

will be available for download in some days.But before it is available for
everyone there is a trick which will allows you to download windows vista SP2.

To download Windows Vista SP2 just follow the steps below.

1) Download this bat file by Clicking here.
2) Double-click and launch the batch file to apply the hack.
3) Now, start Windows Update and you should see the Vista Service Pack 2 there.

Service Packs add some more security and stability in Windows.Microsoft Periodically releases service packs by combining some security patches and updates.Recently windows vista SP2 has been leaked to some testers and not available for everyone.
