In this tutorial i will show you how to Dual Boot Windows Developer Preview with Windows 7 without using any DVD or USB Thumb Drive. First we will make an image of Windows 7 (for making image of Windows 7 I am using Macrium Relect because it’s free and easy but you can also use any other disk imaging software). Then we will restore the image to other partition, then we will edit the boot menu. For editing boot menu, I am using EasyBCD.

You will need to download:
* Windows Developer Preview Image (.iso)
* Macrium Relect
* EasyBCD

Part 1 – Creating a Backup image of Windows 7:
1) Open Macrium Relect and select Backup menu and click ‘Create Image’ then click Next.
4) Macrium Relect will show you the Imaging Summary and other Details. Now click Finish and Macrium Relect will start imaging the Windows 7 Parition.

Part 2 – Restoring the Backup image:
1) Open Macrium Relect and select Restore menu and click ‘Restore Image’.
2) Click Next, then select the location where you save Image file of Windows 7, then click next.
3) Select the drive and click next.
4) Select the Partition where you want to install Windows Developer Preview and click next.
5) Select the Primary Partition and click next.
6) Assign the drive letter and click next.
7) Select ‘Now. Do not check at reboot’ and click next.
Select ‘No Thank You’ and click next.
9) Select ‘Replace from the Master Boot Record (Recommended)’ and click next.
10) Now click Finish, Macrium Relect will restore the Partition from the Image.

Part 3 – Editing Boot Menu:
1) Open EasyBCD and click ‘Add New Entry’.
2) Now select ‘Windows Vista/7′ from type menu, enter ‘Microsoft Windows 7 Temp’ in the name field and select the drive where you save the Windows 7 backup image, then click Add Entry.
3) Now Click ‘Edit Boot Menu Button, then click ‘Save Settings’ and Restart your PC.

Now you should see ‘Microsoft Windows 7 Temp’ in the boot menu. Select ‘Microsoft Windows 7 Temp’ from the boot menu and press enter. Now you are using clone version of your Windows 7. Run Windows Developer Preview setup. When you run Windows Developer Preview setup, it will update this clone version of Windows 7 to Windows Developer Preview. After installation, when you start your PC, Windows Developer Preview will give you an option to start Windows Developer Preview or Windows 7.

Hotfile is becoming one of the favorite filehosting service nowadays because of its good speed and less restrictions as compared to rapidshare.com.One of the another nice feature of hotfile is that, we can upload files using any of the ftp client software or by mapping a network drive in my computer.

After downloading, install filezilla in your computer.Which isn’t a difficult task i think, so i m skipping this step from tutorial. Now i assume that you have downloaded and installed filezilla at this point.

Now in the host field, enter ftp.hotfile.com in username type your username at hotfile and your password at hotfile, you registered this in the step given above and then connect. When you are connected to hotfile ftp server you can uploaded files.

Many times we face this problem when we forget or lost Windows password or somebody had changed the password of our system. In such a situation either we have to install windows again or find a solution to reset the password so that we can log into Windows easily. In this post, I will show you how you can reset the password on Windows easily with the help of your Flash Drive without reformatting or reinstalling your system.. In this post I will use a Flash Drive of 2 GB. Below are the steps to reset Windows password using bootable USB Flash Drive.

Step1. Download a free demo version of Windows Password Key 8.0

http://www.lostwindowspassword.com/downloads/Windows_Password_Key_Demo.exe

Step2. Run the downloaded file to install Windows Password Key 8.0. You can install Windows Password Key 8.0 on any PC you have access to.

Step3.Windows Start menu – From your Microsoft Windows Start Programs menu, select Windows Password Key | Windows Password Key 8.0.exe. . Windows Password Key 8.0 will be launched automatically.

Step4. Create a bootable USB Flash Drive

4.1 You can click “Browse” to browse Windows Password Key 8.0 image file. The file is usually located as the default.

4.2 Select “USB Flash Drive” and insert your USB into a USB port on the computer, specify the USB Flash Drive from the pull-down list.

4.3 Click “burn” button.

4.4 Windows Password Key extracts the ISO image and copies the necessary files on a USB Flash Drive

4.4: Put in your newly created USB Flash Drive and remove your Windows password:

1. Insert newly created USB Flash Drive and reboot your computer.

2. It’s necessary to change your computer’s setup to make it boot from the USB Flash Drive.

a. pres ‘F2‘ or ‘Delete‘ or “F10” to enter your BIOS setup.

Once there, hit enter, and you’ll see a submenu that’s specific to how the PC boots.

e. Select the “USB: your USB brand”, in the example it is “USB: Kingston DTG(2G)”, and hit “Enter” to Set the USB Flash drive as the first bootable option.

f. When you’re done with the BIOS setup program, using the tab and/or arrow keys to navigate to the EXIT menu, select the option for saving the changes you just made, and then reboot. (In many BIOSes, a special key–often the F10 key–will save, exit, and reboot in one step.) . When your computer restarts, it will boot from the USB flash drive.

3. When the USB Flash Drive boots, you’ll see Windows Password Key 8.0 initializing (see screen shot below). If so, you can continue to the next step.

4. Choose the Windows installation to be processed:

5. Choose the user whose password you want to reset by typing it’s number and pressing ‘ENTER’.

6. Type ‘y’ followed by ‘ENTER’ to reset the password.

7. After you confirm the resetting of the password. Windows Password Key 8.0 asks: ‘Reset password for another account? (y/n)’. Type ‘y’ to reset password for another account, or ‘n’ if you are finished and want to exit. Remove the Windows Password Key 8.0 bootable CD/DVD and restart your PC. Now you are able to log into your computer without a password!

* A Computer
* 5 – 15 minutes of your time – this depends on how much content you have on your iPod
* iPod Access

First three requirements mentioned above are of you side.I have mentioned links below to download iPod access for windows and Mac and hope that now you have everything which is required.

Download iPod Access for Windows

http://www.bablotech.com/iPod-Access-for-Windows(bablotech.com).rar

Download iPod Access for Mac

Step 1

open iPod Access. If your iPod is not already in “Manual Mode” the program will prompt you to do so as it is neccessary when ripping your iPod

Step 2

Leave iPod Access to “Read” your iPod – iPod Access is basically scanning through your iPod finding your files.

Step 3

You will now notice that iPod Access has found all my music:

Step 4

If you scroll through your files you will notice that iPod Access has also recovered your Podcasts and Videos.

Step 5

Now click “Backup.

Step 6

Choose a directory to copy your files into and click “Ok.”

Step 7

Leave iPod Access to copy your files to your hard drive. This may take some time depending on the amount of songs and videos you have.

A short while later the process will finish and iPod Access will return to the default screen.

You are done. You now will have all the files in PC which you have in iPod.

I never like writing an image on CD/DVD and then installing an Operating system from CD Drive.I hope you also don’t.Therefore installing windows or any other Operating from CD is just a boring and time taking job.Who wants these slow speed CD/DVDs? when we have GBs of USB Flash Drives.

If you want to install Windows 7 or Windows vista on a computer which doesn’t have CD/DVD ROM on it (e.g. Netbooks). In this case you only have one option available which is Installing Windows Vista or Windows 7 from a USB Drive.

So first of all you will have to create a bootable CD of Windows vista or Windows 7.This is neither a very easy job nor very difficult. You will have to go throught the small process which is mentioned below in this post and at the end you will have a bootable windows 7 or windows vista USB which will be capable of installing these OS.

The Process of creating bootable Windows Vista and Windows 7 USB has been broken down in to multiple steps for your ease.

First of all let me write down the requirements

- 4 GB USB Flash Drive

- Windows 7 (ISO or extracted files) or Windows Vista FIles

1) Download Windows 7 Beta

Download Latest version of Windows 7 or copy windows vista files from CD to your Local Drive (e.g. C:).

2) Format the USB Flash Drive

My computer–>Removable disk(F)–>Right click and choose Format the USB Flash Drive using the NTFS file system.

3) Extract the Windows 7 ISO file

4) Copy BootSect.exe

When you are done with extracting files from windows 7 iso.Open the extracted folder and open the “boot” folder, inside which we’ll find a file called “bootsect.exe” that we’ll need to use.Copy the file (CTRL+C) and then open up “Computer” or “My Computer” and double-click your C: drive. We’re going to paste (CTRL+V) that “bootsect.exe” file right into C: so we can easily access it in a moment.

5) Time to make the USB Flash Drive Bootable

Programs > Accessories and then right-click on Command Prompt and choose “Run as administrator.”

Inside cmd, type and enter the followings:

1. cd\
2. bootsect /nt60 g:

I have assumed the drive letter of your USB thumb drive is g:, so replace “g:” in the above phrase with whichever letter is assigned to your particular thumb drive. Hit enter and you should see:

The thumb drive auto-load when you boot up your computer.

6) Copy the Windows 7 files to the USB Flash drive

Copy all the files from the Windows 7 folder to the USB drive.

change the first boot device to your USB drive in the BIOS.

Reboot the computer and you will be greeted with colorful Windows 7 Installation Screen.Follow the on screen instructions to install Windows 7.

You must have heard about IP Phone and SIP (Software IP Phone).Nowadays standard PSTN phone are being replaced by IP Phones one of the main reason why companies are switching towards IP Phones is its low cost and easy setup.

What is VoIP ?

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a general term for a family of transmission technologies for delivery of voice communications over IP networks such as the Internet or other packet-switched networks. Other terms frequently encountered and synonymous with VoIP are IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband (VoBB), broadband telephony, and broadband phone.

Setting up an IP Phone server and configuring soft phones is quite easy and you won’t believe that you can do all of this using free softwares you will not need to pay a single penny.

First of all let me write down the requirements.

* Dedicated Machine or Virtual machine with the following specifications.
700 MHz processor.
10 GB Hard disk.
At least256 mb of Ram(512 Recommended)

* Trixbox(IP Phone Server Software).

* Any Softphone or Hardphone.

Now lets start the process.

1) Download trixbox CE 2.6.2 (Stable) from the following link.

http://master.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/asteriskathome/trixbox-2.6.2.2.iso

After downloading if you are gonna use it on dedicated machine burn the image into CD otherwise you can use ISO with Vmware or any other virtualization software.

2) Here i have assumed that you are using virtual machine the process is same for dedicated machine.

3) Use .iso with Vmware or any other virtualization software and start the virtual machine. You will be greeted with a cool green screen of trixbox installation. Now press enter to install trixbox.

4) It will prompt you to select language so select the language you wanna use and press OK.

5) It will now ask for your timezone. This is an important step so please select the correct timezone.

6) Now you will need to select the password for root user select the password and rewrite it to confirm and press OK.

7) Installation will be started in 1 minute and it will reformat your harddisk and install trixbox.

When installation is done your will be restarted and you will have the following screen very soon.

Trixbox console

9) At this point i was little confused while logging in.In the documentation of trixbox it was written that the username is “maint” and password is “password” so i tried to login to console using maint but i was unsuccessful. So let me clear the password confusion for you.

There are 2 username and password you will need to use to login to trixbox.

Username and password you will need to use for logging in to console.

Username : root

Password is the password you supplied during installation.

Username and password you will need to use for logging in to Gui of trixbox.

Username : maint

Password : password

10) We need to enter an IP for IP Phone server here.Enter the following command.

system-config-network

and enter an static IP which you wanna use it is always better to use LAN IP at this point.

11) After assigning an IP you can login to GUI.

Open up IE or any other browser and enter the ip you selected in step 9.

12) After logging in to GUI You will recieve the following interface.

13) Now it is the time to add first extension.

Click on PBX > PBX Settings > Extension

Select Generic SIP Device and click submit.

You will need to enter the following details to add an extension.

User extension (It can be anyone like 202,302,402 and so on.

Display Name (Enter any name you want)

Secret (Write any word you want to be used as a secret for this extension).

14) You can see all the extensions on right side.

15) Now its the time to configure softphone.

To see the list of free softphone check out my post 5 Best free VoIP Phone Softwares

Lets suppose you have downloaded and installed X-Lite.

when you will run X-Lite for first time it will ask for you SIP account.

You will have the following dialog box.

In the first box of display name enter the display name you entered while adding an extension on trixbox.

Second box is for username. It is the extension number you entered while adding an extension on trixbox.

Fourth is for authorization username it is also as extension number you entered while adding an extension on trixbox.

In the fifth box of domain enter the IP address of your trixbox server.

Check register with domain and receive incoming calls.

select domain and click apply then OK

You are now done and you will have a final screen looks like the following.

Now let me send a test call to my number and i will have the following.

Note : By following the steps mentioned above you will have a complete local phone server and in order to make an external call you will need to buy and use internet telephony service provider.

If you have got a PC with some good resources(CPU,Ram and Harddisk) then you should try some different OS on a single machine.Currently Windows XP,vista and ubuntu are the mostly used OS so you should use all of them in a single PC like i m using.Although you can try some different OS using Vmware or microsoft virtual PC but to run different OS in vmware at the same time will require lots of RAM.

The Process of installing all these 3 OS is quite simple let me write it down for you.

Installation of Windows XP

1) Suppose you have a PC with blank Harddisk of 40 GB.

2) Insert Windows XP CD into cd rom and boot from CD.

3) Go through all the steps until you get a screen asking about partition.

4) Now its the time to create some partitions as we have supposed that we have a blank HD.

5) Create 4 partition of equal sizes and select C for the installation of Windows XP.

6) Now as windows XP is installed go to my computer and format the rest 3 partitions by right clicking and select format then NTFS as file system type.

Now lets start the installation of windows vista.

1) Insert windows vista CD in to cd rom.

2) Boot from CD.

3) Continue until you get a partition screen.

4) Now select D for the installation of windows Vista as we have already installed windows XP in C.

5) Now wait until windows vista gets installed.

6) After the installation of windows vista you will be treated with windows vista boot loader and showing you 2 option to select windows XP and windows Vista.

7) Now start windows Vista.

Now lets start the installation of ubuntu.

1) While running windows vista insert ubuntu CD in to cd rom.

iTunes allows us to easily synchronise music or any other files from computer to iPod touch but one of the bad thing is that what to do if you wanna copy the songs or any other files from iPod to your computer. You must have to use any other software for this purpose. In this post i am gonna show you how to copy songs or any other files from iPod to computer.

You can copy songs or any other files from iPod to computer using iPod access.

iPod Access is the premier application for transferring songs from your iPod or iPhone to your computer. Most iPod transfer utilities must fetch ID3 tag information by opening every music file and fetching information. iPod Access is able to utilize the iPod internal database so that it can display your iPod’s contents almost instantly.

First of all you need to download iPod access from the following links.

iPod access for Windows.

iPod access for Mac.

1) Open iPod Access. If your iPod is not already in “Manual Mode” the program will prompt you to do so as it is neccessary when ripping your iPod:

2) Leave iPod Access to “Read” your iPod – iPod Access is basically scanning through your iPod finding your files.

3) You will now notice that iPod Access has found all my music:

4) If you scroll through your files you will notice that iPod Access has also recovered your Podcasts and Videos.

5) Now lets transfer all your data back to your PC. First click “Backup.”

6) Choose a directory to copy your files into and click “Ok.”

7) Leave iPod Access to copy your files to your hard drive. This may take some time depending on the amount of songs and videos you have.

A short while later the process will finish and iPod Access will return to the default screen.

Now check the folder you choose on step 6 now you should have all the files transfered to this folder.

Note : This guide works with all types if iPod (even iPod touch) and iPhone too.

As all of us know microsoft has released the latest Service Pack SP3 for windows XP which can be downloaded from microsoft website the size of this Service Pack is about 350-500MB So rather than first installing windows XP SP2 from CD and then install SP3 it would be much better if you create a custom windows XP SP3 Installation CD So SP3 will also be installed at the time of installation.

In this post i am gonna share a tutorial for you for creating windows XP SP3 Installation CD.

First of all lets have a quick look at the requirements you will need to have.

Windows XP SP2 (Installation CD)

Windows XP SP2 (Can be downloaded from microsoft Website)

.Net Framework 3.5 (Can also be downloaded from microsoft Website)

nLite v1.4.9 (Download Links given below)

http://nliteos.pcrpg.org/nlite/old/nLite-1.4.9.installer.exe

5. WMP11 Slipstreamer [for slipstreaming WMP11 to the Windows XP installation files] (Download Links given below)

http://www.boooggy.org/slipstreamer/wmp11slips1.3i.exe

6. WMP 11 & Internet Explorer 7 (Download Links given below)

http://rapidshare.com/files/161410638/WMP11_Oct08.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/161410558/IE7_Aug.rar

After downloading everything its time to start creating windows XP SP3 Installation CD

1. Install .NET Framework 3.5
2. Install nLite and WMP11 Slipstreamer

Don’t Start WMP11 Slipstreamer yet, the program will work automatically.

3.Create a folder on desktop and Insert Windows XP SP2 CD into CD and copy the whole CD to the folder WinXP_SP2

4. Start nLite and Locate the Windows XP installation files (Should be in folder WinXP_SP2 recently created on Desktop)

5. Import & Load previous settings.

If this is the first time, you can skip this step with just clicking Next button; however, if you want to retouch the Installation CD this option will lighten your next mission.

6. Task Selection

At this stage, nLite wants you to pick the task you want to operate, there are 8 tasks. If you ask me, usually I pick it like this.

But since this is a Complete Mission Briefing, then let’s just pick them all.

7. Service Pack Integration

Now for the first mission, locate the Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 and press open; nLite then extracts and updates the Installation files.

Now You Installation files are ready.

8. Add Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs

The second mission is load your installation files with Windows XP Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs, If you already have some of them then you could add the package by inserting it here. The first priority is to insert WMP11 and IE7 so then you won’t install them if you ever reinstall your Window XP.

9. Integrating Drivers

Usually I skip this task, because you aren’t always share same drivers with everyone then I think it’s safe to just leave it blank. To insert your driver files first you MUST extract them in one folder each, locate the folder by selecting Multiple Driver Folder.

Make sure the Delete After Install checkbox are ticked so Windows will cleanup the files after the installation.

10. Removing Windows XP Components

Firstly you should select the functionality you need in order the wizard to automatically prevent you from accidentally removing related components. Check ‘em all, it’s better to safe than sorry.

Make sure you read the components description before you tick (remove) or leave (use) the component; becareful, don’t tick the red lettered component; those are important components.

11. Unattended

This stage was provided so you could set your installation CD personally, you can set it to suit yourself and yours only. If you fill the blanks now, then Setup will automatically skip the query during the installation process. You can enter the CD-Key, set the owner and the company, create User Account/s, etc.

12. Options

In this stage, you’ll be asked to set the system options. This is one of the most critical phase, false picks or settings will end up in an odd system interface, read the description carefully before you do any changes.

13. Tweaking Windows Settings

14. Applying Changes

Let us see how much you shrunk / grew your installation files.

15. Bootable ISO

The final step, finally you have your own personalized Windows XP Pro SP3 Installation files. In this stage nLite provides the tool for creating an ISO / directly burn the file to CD.

Before you execute the ISO creation / disc burning make sure you check the file folder, there are two files named Last Session.ini and Last Session_u.ini. If you’re not planning to edit the installation files again, make sure you delete/move it somewhere else; if you want to retouch the files, leave those files and skip this step.
