Finally, the wait is over and Apple’s Oct 4 event is now confirmed. Apple is holding ‘Let’s talk iPhone’ Event on Oct 4 at it’s headquarters. Although this is now confirmed that Apple is holding an event on Oct 4 but it is still unconfirmed what is the purpose of this event? Is Apple going to announce iPhone 5? If Apple announce iPhone 5 will there be one iPhone or two? or Apple is going to announce a mildly reworked ‘iPhone 4S’? or Apple is going to announce iOS 5?

Currently, we don’t have answers to the above questions because Apple’s invitation only contains the Event Name, Date, Time and Location. But there are some rumours that Apple will announce iPhone 5. Let’s see what Apple will announce on Tuesday Oct 4.

In October 2010, iOS use was 44.34% and now in August 2011 iOS use is 53.04%. So in 11 months iOS use is increased by 8.7%. Apple is working hard to increase the usage of iOS, in this regard they have released iOS 5 beta, that contains many new features. To competate with Apple’s iOS Microsoft is also working Hard. They have released Windows Phone but unfortunately Windows Phone could not meet upto the expectations. Microsoft is also working on Windows 8 (Windows Developer Preview) that contains many new features for Tablets.

Apple iOS 5 may come out of beta this year, but Windows 8 (Windows Developer Preview) is in early stages and it is expected that it will be in beta in late 2012.

Apple iPad is the most popular and successful tablet computer in the market.Different rumors are surrounding in the blogosphere about the new version of Apple iPad which will be Apple iPad 3 or Apple iPad 2 HD.Most of the rumors seem to be true and these rumors are based on the previous releases of Apple iDevices.

After reading different rumors on different websites, i have compiled a summarized list of iPad rumors which are very short in length and easy to understand.

1) Retina Display with resolution of 2048×1536

After the success of retina display in iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G it is being said that iPad 3 will have retina display with the resolution of 2048×1536.This resolution will definitely help developers in creating applications and games as they will have more space on the screen for the apps.

2) 3D Display

It is also being said that iPad 3 will have 3D Display.

3) Coming in 2012

Release date of iPad 3 isn’t yet confirmed but according to rumors iPad will be released in early 2012.

4) A6 processor

This doesn’t seems to be rumor as A6 is the newest chip by apple and there are many chances that apple is going to use this in new version of iPad due to its impressive performance.

5) Samsung and LG will manufacture display for ipad 3

Samsung and LG will be creating the retina display for iPad, but rumors also says that Samsung and LG are having tough time in creating new displays due to high requirements from apple, as all of us know apple never compromises on quality.

6) Ipad will be 4G

This also seems to be true as 4G is the latest technology being used in new tablets and cellphones.

7) Will be cheaper

I have some doubts in this rumor as the prices of apple products is never cheap, apple never compromises on Quality and prices. Many peoples do hate apple due to its high prices. Some peoples say that apple sells its products in double prices but i think apple charges for its creativity and quality.

Name of this new Version of iPad

This is the most interesting rumor as the name of new version of iPad is still not confirmed. There are 3 names about iPad’s version surrounding in the market. These 3 names are iPad 2 Plus or iPad 2 HD or iPad 3

9) USB 3.0 Port

USB 3.0 is the fastest USB port being used in new computers and External Hard Drives.According to rumors new iPad version will have a USB 3.0 port.If it is true than data transfer speed will be very good from PC to iPad.

10) SD Card option

Here come’s the last rumor of this post (obviously isn’t the last rumor for iPad, as rumors of iPad 3 are unlimited) and the rumor is that iPad 3 will have an SD Card slot which means we can use SD to extend the memory of iPad but i think that apple won’t do this due to the following reasons.

1) If iPad 3 will have SD Card option then nobody will buy large storage iPad, everybody will be buying iPad with the minimum storage and they will then use SD Card to extend the memory.Apple usually charges above $50 on devices with double storage as compare to each other.

e.g. if iPad 3 8GB will be available for $600 then iPad 3 16GB will be available for $650 – $675

2) As SD card is an external storage, it effects the performance of device and applications.Apple never compromises on performance so apple will never think about this option.

iPhone 5 will be releasing this year.Although iPhone is the most popular smartphone worldwide but new smartphones by different companies are also being introduced and it is being said that iPhone 5 will have a nice competition with the new smartphones being introduced there are some smartphone which are released or will be releasing this year.

Following are the list and specs of upcoming smartphones from LG,Samsung,Motorola and HTC.They are supposed to be the competitor of iPhone 5

1) Motorola Droid Bionic

The spec sheet on this phone is certainly impressive. Aside from 4G and the dual-core processors, the Droid Bionic also has 512MB DDR2 RAM; HDMI mirroring (so you can view video on both the phone and the TV when they’re connected); 1080p video playback; 8-megapixel camera on the rear plus a front-facing VGA camera for video calls; Wi-Fi, of course; mobile Wi-Fi hot spot for up to five devices (subject to carrier fees); and since it ships with Android 2.2, the WebKit browser also plays in-browser Flash video. Gingerbread fans need not fret either, as we’ve heard it is upgradable to Android 2.3.

2) Samsung galaxy s2

Samsung Galaxy S2 is a nice phone with 1.2GHz Dual core processor,super-slim chassis and feather-light innards. It has dimensions of 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm mean it’s one of the thinnest smartphones on the market at the moment.Screen size is 4.3 inches super AMOLED.8.1MP camera with single LED flash.

3) Motorola Photon 4G

The Motorola Photon 4G is an absolute powerhouse of a phone. It ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a dual-core 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 4G WiMax speeds, a 4.3-inch qHD display, and a dual-mode GSM/CDMA chipset. Features include HDMI-out, DLNA support, Wi-Fi, Mobile Hotspot for up to eight devices, 720p HD video capture, 1080p HD video playback, and secure data encryption.

4) LG Thrill 4G

The LG Optimus 3D, expected to hit AT&T shores as the LG Thrill 4G, aims to deliver more than most other high-end devices do. With its dual-core processor, dual cameras and dual-channel memory, it scores a triple double, but will this be enough for it to get noticed in the packed high-end Android space? The dual-core TI OMAP4430 chip is one of the most capable dual-core performers we’ve seen and coupled with 512MB of dual-channel memory it makes the Android experience buttery smooth. Then there’s 3D – the 4.3-inch screen does an excellent job of displaying glasses-free 3D

5) HTC Sensation

HTC has recognised that in bringing out a phone that ticks all the boxes for the most sought-after tech, bringing an 8MP camera, 1080p video recording, a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm chipset and a qHD resolution 4.3-inch screen.

6) BlackBerry Torch

The BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860 packs a 1.2GHz single-core processor and 768MB of RAM behind a full-sized 3.7-inch screen at a 800 x 480 resolution, without a QWERTY keyboard to back it up. The phone will be able to record 720p HD video with a 5-megapixel camera, and comes with 4GB internal storage that is expandable up to 36GB with a microSD slot, with CMDA, EVDO, UMTS, GSM bands all supported.
