Google is shutting down Google Wave

Today, Google announced that they don’t have plan to continue development of Google Wave as a standalone product. But Google Promised that they will maintain the site at least through the end of the year. It means that Google Wave has been failed to satisfy it’s Users, now Google has discontinued its development and after the end of the year Google will shutdown Google Wave site.

Google launched Developer Preview of Wave in Google I/O conference on May 27, 2009. On May 19, 2010, Google Wave was released to the general public. Many users tried Google Wave and liked it. But despite numerous loyal fans, Wave has not seen the user adoption Google would have liked. The central parts of the code, as well as the protocols that have driven many of Wave’s innovations, like drag-and-drop and character-by-character live typing, are already available as open source, so customers and partners can continue the innovation.

Despite of failure of Project Google said that Wave has taught them alot and they are proud of Google Wave team and they will continue to develop new projects to advance technology and the wider web.
