Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2 support ending 13 July

If you are still using Windows XP SP2 then it is the time to upgrade your Windows XP SP2 to SP3 because Windows XP SP2 Extended Support will end on 13 July 2010. With Windows XP SP2, Extended Support for all versions of Windows 2000 will also end. On July 13, 2010 All versions of Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2 will retire.

Microsoft announced Windows XP SP2 on August 25, 2004 and now after six years Windows XP SP2 is going to retire. In April 2009 Windows XP SP2 moved from Mainstream Support to the Extended Support phase. At the start of Extended Support Phase Free technical support, design changes and warranty claims were also ended. Extended Support Phase only includes paid support and security updates.

On 13 July, Windows Server 2003 will also enter Extended Support Phase that will end on 14 July 2015. Windows XP SP3 will be Supported until 8 April 2014.
