Microsoft eliminates ‘Series’ from ‘Windows Phone 7′

Microsoft announced today that they are eliminating the word ‘Series’ from Windows Phone 7.Microsoft made this announcement in company’s official Twitter page.

Microsoft announced:
“Tis the season for Series finales. We’ve got one too – dropping the ‘Series’ and keeping the ‘Windows Phone 7.’ Done.”

Microsoft has not given any reason why they are doing that but the reason may be that the old name was far to long for an OS.

Windows Phone 7 is planned for release by “holiday” 2010.
