Why Linux is better than windows for EVERYONE is described in the previous post in the comments.
I just say only one thing before answering your statistics: If you want to convince non-techies/nerds users, the name you chose for your site is bad. How much non-techies will enter to bablotech.com??? So if you really want to convince those people, go to Windows support forum. But if you insist posting here, I'm start thinking you wanna brash our "nerdy" brain, so if our "non-geek" friends will ask us "which OS is the best for me?", we will answer him Windows.
And seriously, you're sound like Microsoft pays you. But I don't really believe they realy do(you publish also Apple and Google stuff). I don't think you're non-techies guy, so why you hate so much Linux? Did you have a bug in Linux which change your mind? I had many, and it didn't.
WOW this was so much them I thought for "one thing" I mentioned. Now for the statistics:
This "Total Market Share" is tested on USA. How do I know?
1. I think you're from USA(correct me if I'm wrong).
2. 9.73% for Mac? This is only in USA. Seriously, Mac is still exists in only few states(The Ironic thing is that they are very developed...) especially in USA and USA-like(Unix users got me:-)

Now about the Microsoft monopoly, it's just because FUD thanks to Windows 98 which was so successful. Sorry for saying this, but people are stupid. Relax, most of the time it's not true. But when this come to advertising, they are really stupid. This is why there are more softwares for Windows... Just think about this.
People like Windows because people got Windows! This is at least why I'm dual butting it with Debian. But we can change(users=open source) this reality.
In addition, I don't if you know this, but some of the Linuxers(especially in the past) support your post. They don't want people will join Linux and will ruin it. Take for example, Mono. They claim that thanks to Linux publishers(especially Ubuntu), Mono has born. I'm crying about this as old .Net fan... (Now I'm pushing trough Vala.)
