How to burn a CD/DVD in Ubuntu

Just like any efficient OS ubuntu has got everything in it.It has got all the required softwares Plug in and play support for USB flash drive and soo much more.Ubuntu also gives you the ability to create a data or audio CD with just a click.If you have a CD Burner Connected to your PC and whenever you inserts an empty disk (CD-R or DVD – R ) Ubuntu detects and greets you with a dialog box to make a Data or audio CD.

Now you just need to click on Make Data CD or Make audio CD which will take you to another screen.On the other screen you will have no files added as you are starting with blank CD so the easiest thing to do is to click the File menu at the top of the screen and open a new Nautilus window, and then drag files or directories from it into the CD/DVD Creator Folder.

When you have done adding all the file you wanna burn to CD the next step will be start burning.When you are ready to burn the CD, click the Write button and the CD-burning process will begin. A simple status bar will appear so you can keep track of your disc’s progres.Following is the window showing that the files are being written to the CD by Nautilu.
