November 14th, 2008 | by admin |If you have 4Gb of ram installed on your PC but still windows vista is showing 3GB of RAM then there are some things you need to check out.By defaults windows vista supports 4Gb of RAM but in most of the PC installed with 4GB of RAM vista is showing 3GB of RAM.First of all you need to download latest Service Pack for windows vista.
If after installing the latest Service pack vista is still showing 3Gb of RAM you need to Enable PAE (physical address extension) on your PC after enabling PAE vista will support 4Gb of RAM and more than 4Gb of RAM also.
To Enable PAE
Typing “cmd” in the “start” “search” space, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter. This runs “cmd” in Administrator Mode.
Then type – “run” Type – BCDEdit /set PAE forceenable
