How to enable Windows XP internet connection firewall (ICF)

August 7th, 2008 | by admin |

Windows XP SP2 comes with built in firewall for providing some sort of security by default.But it is not a powerfull firewall that can stop inbound connections to your pc so you always need a dedicated hardware firewall or software like zone alarm.

But if you do not wanna install third party firewall software but still wanna secure your pc you can have some sort of security by configuring windows firewall which is called ICF( Internet Connection Firewall)

Following are the instructions for enabling firewall in Windows XP SP2

-> Go to Control Panel
–> Network and internet connections
—> Network connections
—-> Select connection and right click on them
—–> Properties
——> Advanced
——-> Internet Connection Firewall (enable it)
——–> Settings
———> Make sure NOTHING is selected/enabled
—-> Repeat the procedure on all other connections too
